A blend of 48% Syrah, 32% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre, the 2013 The Banshee Proprietary Blend is another terrific wine from this estate. Offering notes of black fruits, pepper, smoked herbs and hints of flowers, this beauty is full-bodied, ultra-pure, multidimensional and layered, with considerable elegance and finesse. Coming from the Torrin Estate vineyard and the Shadow Canyon vineyard on York Mountain (this is outside the Paso Robles AVA, hence the Central Coast AVA for this release), it saw one-third whole clusters and 18 months in 30% new French oak. Drink it anytime over the coming decade.
