Dana Estate was named after the Sanskrit term meaning “the Spirit of Generosity.” Dana’s wines certainly live up to their name, delivering generously bold, fruit forward, full bodied Napa Cabs.
The winery was established by a South Korean businessman Hi Sang Lee, who was influenced by and consulted with some of the greatest Napa wineries and wine makers including Joseph Phelps and Philippe Melka. With their help and expertise, Lee pushed to produce some of the highest quality and very rare, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon’s in the world focusing on four vineyards: Helms, Hershey, the lauded Lotus as well as their newest vineyard, Crystal Springs. Dana certainly lives up to its name, so in the spirit of Dana estates, be generous to your taste buds and try these incredibly rare gems!

- The largest case production is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Onda, which is essentially their second wine culled from the top lots of Lotus, Hershey, Helms and Crystal Springs. It’s a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot (888 cases) that spent 20 months in 70% new French oak. The wine is deep ruby/purple, exhibits crème de cassis notes with some incense and subtle charcoal. It’s medium to full-bodied, silky smooth and clearly meant to be the wine that most consumers would want to drink earlier than the more saturated and denser single-vineyard wines. This should drink nicely for at least another 10-15 years.
