What I think is the top wine from the estate, the 2012 Block B is 100% Syrah from a single, north-facing block of limestone soils in their estate Paderewski vineyard. Aged 18 months in 44% new French oak barrels and puncheons, it sports an inky purple color to go with awesome notes of smoked meats, graphite, crushed rock, blackberries and plums. Thick, rich, unctuous and gorgeously textured, it`s a full-scaled, pedal-to-the-metal beauty that will knock your socks off anytime over the coming 8-10 years.
