As one of the smaller leading producers of the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux, Château L'Église-Clinet has become extremely prestigious in more recent vintages thanks to praise from esteemed wine critics. The 11 acre estate produces only around 1500 cases of wine per year, with half of their vines being 50 years old. Since 1983, Winemaker Denis Durantou took over and has assisted L'Eglise-Clinet’s rise to prominence.

Château L’Eglise-Clinet 2015 is a distinguished Pomerol red blend, primarily crafted from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. This vintage showcases the estate's commitment to quality, with low yields from old vines grown on iron-rich clay-gravel soils. The wine is notable for its depth and concentration, offering an array of flavors including black cherry, plum, and blackberry, intertwined with hints of licorice, mint, and spice. Aged in 70% new oak, it presents a full-bodied profile with a rich texture and finely integrated tannins. - Composed of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 L`Eglise Clinet comes bursting out of the glass with a gorgeous perfume of exotic spices and potpourri over a core of blueberry compote, red currant jelly, spiced black plums and mulberries with touches of unsmoked cigars, powdered cinnamon and licorice. Big, rich and full-bodied, the palate offers exquisite harmony, packed with exotic spice and red and black fruit layers, finishing on an epically long-lasting mineral note. In an understated word: WOW.
