The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon The Classic burst from the glass with a striking simulacrum of crème de cassis, blueberry liqueur and mint. On the palate, it`s full-bodied, layered and expansive, cutting a broad swathe across the palate and concluding with a saline finish. As with Reynvaan`s Syrah cuvées, this is decidedly low in acidity, but to my palate, the saline/mineral element that lends all these bottlings freshness—and that works well in Syrah—comes here at the expense of some of Cabernet`s varietal character. While the 2015 won`t disappoint admirers of this cuvée, it`s a wine I find a bit perplexing.
