Fuligni
Located on the eastern rocky slopes of Montalcino, Fuligni is a family-owned estate that produces notable Brunello di Montalcino wines. Split amongst four vineyards, Fuligni has 10 hectares of dominantly Sangiovese vines producing its Brunello, Brunello Reserve, Rosso DOC, and IGT Toscana. Fuligni’s “Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2010” received a nearly perfect score from wine critic James Suckling.
Tasting Notes
- D96
- The finest 2007 Brunellos from high ground, like this one, balance ripe and savoury hawthorn berries with intense and very clearly defined, slim tannins. Brilliant.
- JS95
- Dried fruits with hints of coffee bean and cedar. Full body with silky tannins and a tangy, savoury, complex, succulent finish. Almost salty character, with ripe fruits. Drink or hold.
