From the sedimentary-based foothills of the Coastal Range south of Dallas, Wright's 2010 Pinot Noir Freedom Hill exhibits high-toned, esterous, jellied and distilled dark berry essences in the nose as well as on a sweetly and juicily punch-like but tart-edged palate. This is so singularly and simply fruited that I kept waiting and hoping for some complexity to emerge but wasn't detecting it. Perhaps with time in bottle that will come, though I won't try to speculate as to this wine's evolution.
