- Structured, tannic, and broodingly backward, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap offers attractive but tight aromas of loamy soil, cassis, creosote, and flowers. This impressively endowed, muscular, tannic effort displays a Bordeaux-like austerity, but there is plenty of underlying fruit and concentration. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2016.
