The 2012 Chardonnay Clos Electrique has an intriguing bouquet: lanolin and honeysuckle scents, nicely defined, more resinous possibly than the nascent 2013 from barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with tropical tones: mandarin, melon and white peach and a smooth, waxy, almost pithy finish. This is simply full of character, although I hazard a guess that the 2013 might have the upper hand once in bottle.
