The 2006 Special Club emerges from the glass with smoke, slate, ash and citrus. It possesses remarkable textural finesse and an understated, classy personality. I loved it. The 2006 is a blend of three Chardonnay parcels in Villers-Marmery, Charmois, Broccot and Champs d'Enfer. The wine was predominantly aged in steel although 20% was aged in oak. In this vintage the malo was blocked. The 2006 spent 50 months on its lees. Dosage is 9 grams per liter. Disgorged July 10, 2011. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016.
