- A somber, blackish garnet, the 1998 Brunello di Montalcino presents a warm and enveloping nose of plums, leather, game and licorice. Very concentrated and deep with an explosive force and sumptuous texture, its fruit, mineral, and tar flavors are intense, layered, complex, and very much in need of bottle time. Drink: 2005-2016.
