Famously rumored to be the oldest known Champagne wine producer, 1584 to be exact, Gosset sits within Ay in Champagne. This winery, compared to the most famous Champagne houses within the region, is under much smaller production. They practices are intricate and old school, being riddled and degorged by hand and aged in small oak barrels. The higher acidity makes these Champagnes perfect for aging.
Tasting Notes
- WS91
- Fine and creamy, this harmonious Champagne layers mouthwatering acidity with layered flavors of plum tart, pastry cream, sliced almond and mandarin orange peel. Delivers threads of fragrant spice and smoky mineral. Drink now through 2021.
- W&S91
- Juicy red fruit flavors of fresh strawberries and cream saturate this young wine. The flavors cascade from nuts to fruits, the fruit sweet, the wine savory and bright. A superrich, generous rosé for duck prosciutto.
