Jodie and Luc Morlet, whose family owns Pierre Morlet & Fils in Champagne, founded their own wine estate in St. Helena, California in 2006. Ever since then they have been producing countless vintages of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. They have specialized in taking winemaking techniques from the Old World and adapting them to California’s terroir. The result is intense, rich, and complex wines that have the utmost refinement and are served at the most prestigious tables and shared by wine connoisseurs and collectors.

- Sporting a deep ruby-purple color, the 2016 Pinot Noir Joli Coeur leaps from the glass with red and purple flower notes over scents of crushed blackberries, black cherries and mulberries, with nuances of aniseed, cinnamon toast and underbrush, plus a touch of bark. Medium to full-bodied and firmly structured with a great core of rich, seductive black fruits, it has gorgeous perfume and incredible length. A barrel sample to be bottled in January 2018, 3,000 cases are expected to be made.

- Once again, the 2016 Pinot Noir Jolie Cœur is superb. Rich, ample and layered, with tremendous balance, the 2016 has it all.
