70% from Stoney Vine vineyard in 2013, as Busch felt that the Syrah from Upland "didn`t pop"; vinified with 90% whole clusters and aged in 20% new oak): Good medium red with a hint of a amber at the edge. Smoky red berries, coffee and mocha on the nose, along with a minty high note. Lovely sweetness of fruit is leavened by a touch of rocky minerality. More medicinal and fresh than meaty, and not a funky Syrah in spite of its high pH of 4.1. (Drink between 2017-2024)
