The 2009 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard has the best aromatics of this portfolio. It displays an impressive perfume of spicy black fruits, sandalwood, and exotic spices. This is followed by an opulent, plush offering unusual for its richness in this more elegantly styled vintage. This lengthy Pinot will offer prime drinking from 2012 to 2021.

A very deeply pitched nose of ripe dark berries, briar and earth aromas gives way to textured and quite delicious medium weight flavors that possess plenty of mouth coating dry extract but here the tannins are much more robust on the commendably long finish. This is not particularly elegant but it is well-balanced and harmonious and fashioned in a bigger, richer and more powerful style.
