The 1999 Zinfandel Pato Ranch (produced from a 104-year old vineyard planted in sandy soils) displays a dense ruby color in addition to a sweet, jammy nose of berries, pepper, and resiny balsam aromas. Full-bodied, exuberant, and robust, with silky tannin as well as low acidity, it is a delicious, hedonistically-styled Zinfandel to consume over the next 5-6 years.
