Deep garnet colored, the 2013 Cabernet Franc Big Rock Block is scented of warm red currants, crushed blackberries and dried Mediterranean herbs with hints of garrigue, tobacco, oolong tea and charcoal. The medium to full-bodied palate provides concentrated red and black fruit flavors, though the tannins are somewhat hard and astringent, marring the otherwise appealing core and finish.
