Complex and distinctive is the 1998 Cavaliere, a 100% Sangiovese cuvee also aged one year in French oak. A deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by sumptuous aromas of espresso infused with blackberries, licorice, soy, and truffles. This long, layered, multidimensional Tuscan wine is extremely impressive. Why can`t California come remotely close to producing Sangiovese of this quality? This beautiful 1998 can be drunk now or cellared for 10-12 years.
