I have been keeping an eye on this estate over the last several years because the proprietor is ambitious and quality-oriented. Their 1990 should bring this domaine the attention it merits. An exceptionally rich, forceful, concentrated wine, it was bottled for the American importer unfined and unfiltered. The huge nose of black pepper, jammy fruit, tobacco, Provencal herbs, and roasted meats is followed by a wine with great stature, good balance, and a muscular, rich finish. Approachable now, it should reach its peak in 4-5 years and last for 15 or more.
