The Winery

Booker

Named after two orphan brothers who were raised in Paso Robles, Claud and Dick Booker, Booker Vineyards aims to replicate the prominence that these brothers made on the region with their own wines. The Booker brothers helped to develop the region, working as farmers and assisting with manual labor, as well as being massive philanthropists for the region. One-hundred acres of the Booker brothers land was purchased by Lisa and Eric Jensen in 2001 in hopes to grow truly amazing fruit. They did in fact grow amazing fruit, and by 2005 they released their own label. The wines are mostly Rhone varieties, and are bold, ripe, and cleverly named, following the trend of most of Paso Robles.

Tasting Notes

WA93–95
Looking at the 2011s still in barrel, the extended barrel aged 2011 Oublie 22 will see, you guessed it, 22 months in barrel prior to bottling. More bright and lifted than the regular bottling, with plenty of violet, cherry, crushed berry, cedar and spice, it has a rich, full texture, good acidity and impressive length. It, too, should have upwards of a decade of longevity. Drink 2015-2021.
