The 2014 Cíes is pure Albariño from different vineyards ranging from 30 to 70 years of age from the village of Meaño. Sixty percent of the volume fermented and matured in barrique for six months, and the rest in stainless steel. As the oak he has is aged, his idea is to do all the wines in wood (but without wood aromas). There is no trace of oak (as expected) and the nose is a little closed at first (it was just bottled), mixing white fruit with citric notes. But it`s the palate where you have the electric granite minerality, and even though this is a wine that mixes grapes from deeper soils with shallow ones. This is a young Albariño with volume and acidity, stabilized in oak without leaving any aromas. Superb for what it is. This is a great showing for this bottling. The wines evolve very slowly in this small underground winery. 6,000 bottles produced.
