Anakota
The wines of Anakota stand alone as singular expressions of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from two distinct vineyard sites: Helena Montana and Helena Dakota. The vineyards highlight two distinct facets of our Knights Valley estate. Their boundaries are set not by a surveyor’s transit, but by the subtle variations of topography and geology. Both vineyards dart and weave their way around cold mountain streams, thick underbrush, groves of native trees and open fields. They follow the subtle contours of the earth climbing up the southwest-facing hillsides of our property.

- The same can be said for the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Dakota Vineyard. However, it offers sweeter tannins as well as slightly more evolved and complex aromas of unsmoked, high class cigar tobacco, graphite, blackberries, cassis, spring flowers and a distinctive minerality. Although deep, full-bodied and backward, the sweet fruit and tannin provide a more upfront character than the 2009. It, too, is a 30-50-year wine. Rating: 96+
