Reduction. There is yet again excellent volume to the solidly concentrated medium weight flavors that possess more refinement but less muscle and power before culminating in a lingering and harmonious finish where the supporting tannins are dense but fine. Good stuff and worth a look. Range: 91-93

WA90–92

The 2014 Morey St Denis 1er Cru les Ruchots has a pretty cassis and blackcurrant-scented bouquet that just needs to muster more energy by the time it finds itself in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, quite tensile tannin. I like the mineral nature of this wine. It is an austere Morey-Saint-Denis, but the energy simmers at its core. Give it 4-5 years in bottle to find its groove. Range: 90-92
