Domaine Perrot-Minot
Under the ownership of fourth generation, Christophe Perrot-Minot advanced Domaine Perrot Minot to become one of Burgundy’s real rising stars. This former wine broker wanted to enhance the wines to taste as natural as possible. He replaced traditional filtering with a ‘filter by gravity’ system, and reduced the use of new oak for barrel aging. With nearly two centuries of history in the production of wine, Domaine Perrot-Minot continues to craft wines of an exquisite nature.
Tasting Notes
- BH95
- Vinified with 50% whole clusters. The unusually expressive nose expresses itself with notes of earthy and quite deeply pitched scents of plum, cassis, wild berries, underbrush and a hint of the sauvage. There is plenty of muscle to the supple, round and admirably pure large-bodied flavors that possess very firm but relatively fine-grained tannins on the impressively persistent and powerful finish. This doesn’t quite have the present depth of the Charmes but it’s just as long and the underlying material appears to be just as good and thus this should be outstanding in time. 2026+
- WS93
- Pure, focused and sappy, this red features cherry, raspberry, licorice and spice flavors, allied to a vibrant structure. Elegant, harmonious and long, with a mineral hint on the long finish. This is all about finesse. Best from 2016 through 2026.
