Take the regular cuvee, put it on steroids, and add more new oak and you have the full-bodied, powerful, concentrated 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Speciale. Abundant leather, tobacco-tinged, cassis flavors combine with hints of dried herbs and soil in this dense, tannic effort. This 1,100-case cuvee will require patience. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2022.
