With vineyards located all throughout Sonoma, La Follette produces some of the most ‘site-driven’ Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs within modern California winemaking. These site driven wines are representations of the terroir within their vineyards. Therefore it is a large collection of Sonoma flavors and soils. The winery is gifted by the terroir, and not the other way around.
Tasting Notes
- WA90+
- More tightly knit with a dark color, the 2012 Pinot Noir Manchester Ridge Vineyard reveals blue fruits and raspberries, but not the complexity of the DuNah. Nevertheless, there is a lot going on in this concentrated, well-balanced Pinot. Give it another 6-12 months of bottle age and drink it over the following 5-7 years.
