Symbolically, “purlieu” refers to our approach to winemaking, to exploring the outskirts and navigating the boundaries of what one may expect of a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. For us, the key to successfully walking that edge lies in maintaining balance: between innovation and tradition, confidence and restraint, depth and refreshment."

- The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon is as spectacular as the Missouri Hopper. Here’s something about these vineyards that just screams first-growth quality. This one has classic Pauillac crème de cassis, spice box, charcoal embers, graphite and forest floor. It is full-bodied and opulent, with layers of fruit, and of course, being a 2014, the tannins are sweet and the wine already compellingly addictive and full of charm. This full-bodied classic should drink well young and cellar for 20 or more years.
