A barrel sample of the 2015 Petite Sirah Drummond’s Cuvée comes primarily from Mendocino’s Eaglepoint Ranch, which used to make up Sean Thackrey’s Sirius Syrah. This massive, rich, concentrated Petite Sirah is a 50-year wine. Black as a moonless night, it displays notes of graphite, incense, camphor, blueberry and blackberry liqueur. It is still in barrel, but it’s a monster. More on this once it’s in bottle next year. Range: 94-96
