Williams Selyem
Ed Selyem and Burt Williams pursued their winemaking dream in a garage in Forestville, California. Their first vintage was produced in 1982 and within five years, their demand exceeded supply and a wait list was created. Selyem fans had to wait, at times, up to three years to purchase one of these delectable bottles! They quickly gained cult status and set a new standard for Pinot Noir. Now the Dyson family owns the winery and is still created outstanding Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes
- WE94
- Baked bread, pine forest and strawberry rise out of the glass in this relatively light yet complex and layered wine, spicy in cinnamon and black tea. It shows the powerful grace of good winemaking, showcasing the appellation's beauty and brawn from a warm, even year.
- WA90
- Pale to medium ruby in color, the 2014 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley has notes of cranberries and red currants with underlying suggestions of rose hips, cracked black pepper and dusty earth. Medium-bodied and solidly structured, this mouth-filling beauty is already open for business with bags of freshness and a long, perfumed finish.
