For over 700 years the Frescobaldi family has combined the tradition of Tuscany, owning some of the greatest vineyards in the region and dedicating its vision to the diversity of its terroirs. Frescobaldi’s six estate portfolio, individually represent the characteristics and authenticity of the Tuscan territories. The “2010 Castelgiocondo (Marchesi de' Frescobaldi) Brunello di Montalcino” caught the palate of highly acclaimed wine critic James Suckling when it was awarded his 2015 Wine of the Year.
Castelgiocondo Brunello di Montalcino 2010 is a distinguished red wine from Tuscany's historic Castelgiocondo estate, known for its medieval stronghold overlooking the Val d’Orcia. Made from 100% Sangiovese, this wine is crafted from grapes grown in galestro and alberese soils at elevations of 250-450 meters. Aged for two years in oak and further in bottle, this vintage is celebrated for its elegance. The tasting profile reveals complex layers of dark cherry, plum, and earthy notes, complemented by hints of cedar and spice. The wine boasts a silky texture with balanced acidity and tannins, promising longevity and depth as it matures. This vintage highlights a return to traditional winemaking principles.
