The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Chiles Valley is a beautiful wine from the Eisele family, who have farmed this vineyard in the Chiles Valley since 1974. The vineyard is planted on hillsides at elevations of 900-1,000 feet. The blend, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, also includes some Cabernet Franc and Merlot. This is another beautifully harmonious and luscious 2005, with a deep ruby/purple color and complex blueberry and raspberry fruit mixed with forest floor and floral notes. An attractive, medium to full-bodied texture, impressive purity and elegance all combine into a wine that seems to be approaching full maturity, but should hold at least for another 10-15 years.
