The purity of fruit in this is very impressive with cherry and raspberry character. Full body, chewy and rich yet ultra-fine tannin texture and a long, long finish of focused and subtle fruit. Loving this. Drink or hold.

A big, tannic wine, Capanna's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is going to need a few years in the cellar to soften. Macerated dark cherries, mint, lavender, spices and earthiness gradually open up, yet the Riserva remains dominated by its acidity and tannin. Of course, that is exactly the way a young Riserva from a superb vintage should come across at this stage.
