Turley Wine Cellars
Larry Turley founded Turley Wine Cellars project in 1993 with a desire and love for old vine Zinfandel. As a former emergency room physician, he jokes that he resuscitates these old vines in producing beautiful and intense wines. Pairing up with winemaker, Tegan Passalacqua they have an assortment of Napa and Central Coast Vineyards producing mostly Zinfandel, Petite Syrah and a little bit of Cabernet Sauvignons.
Robert M. Parker Jr. has called Larry Turley “the world’s premier Zinfandel specialist…he built Turley Wine Cellars into a showcase for the fruit, power and intensity of Zinfandel.” Production is extremely low, so getting your hands on these phenomenal bottles could be tough, but we have quite the selection!

- A Howell Mountain Zinfandel, the 2013 Zinfandel Cedarman Vineyard is a proprietary blend of Zinfandel from both the Rattlesnake Ridge and Dragon Vineyards. A tiny bit of Petite Syrah and Syrah makes it into the final blend. This is profound wine. Inky ruby/purple, with notes of blackcurrants, blackberries and a floral component as well, this full-bodied, stunningly rich, concentrated and structured Zinfandel is loaded. Dense and powerful (15.8% alcohol), the wine will last for 10-15 or more years. This is a great, great effort in what looks to be an unreal vintage in terms of quality for Turley. With a finish that goes on for a good 40-45 seconds, this is amazing stuff. Rating: 97+
