Established in 2006 in the Napa Valley’s Rutherford AVA, Alpha Omega produces a range of wines that blend the Old World winemaking with the New World techniques. Alpha Omega is very universal utilizing grapes from renowned Napa Valley vineyards like Beckstoffer's To Kalon and Missouri Hopper in Oakville, Dr. Crane and Las Piedras in St. Helena, Georges III in Rutherford, Stagecoach in Atlas Peak, and Sunshine Valley in Oak Knoll District. No matter if it’s reds or whites, Alpha Omega takes advantage of the complexity and depth the Napa Valley has to offer.
Tasting Notes
- WA92
- The 2012 Proprietary Red Blend, made from 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc, is a winner. It reveals good structure and tannin as well as the vintage’s lavish personality and extroverted fruit, glycerin and intensity. It is a big fruit bomb with a deep ruby/purple color and sweet notes of licorice, blackcurrants, blackberries, espresso and white chocolate. Full-bodied and voluptuous, despite its light tannins, it can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15 years.
- WE92
- This is a smoothly crafted, delicate blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc. Its ethereal nature does not preclude plenty of quiet power, which provides a sturdy foundation for the bright cassis and raspberry flavor. Subtle spice box, cedar and cigar add to its complexity and length.
