Adrian Fog is run by a winemaking team with Midwestern roots. Stewart Dorman hails from Southern Indiana, who moved out to California only to fall for the tricky grape of Pinot Noir. He worked throughout the valley with big names such as Mondavi, Sterling, Beringer and more. Jane Ferrel hails from Detroit originally, where she met Dorman and tossed her business life to the wind to devote herself to winemaking. The wines are focused mainly on Pinot Noir, altering vineyard sites in the prime Pinot Noir making AVAs of the North Coast. They also produce a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa fruit.

- The 2002 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard’s bouquet merits 96 points as it is one of the most complete, complex grand cru Pinot Noirs one could ever smell from the New World. Forest floor, flower garden, sweet cherry, strawberry, crushed rocks, and smoky game-like scents represent an aromatic tour de force. The flavors are not quite at the same level, but they are superb nevertheless. This medium to dark ruby-colored Pinot possesses gorgeous sweetness as well as an expansive mouthfeel yet an ethereal lightness. Drink this remarkable Pinot Noir over the next 5-6 years.
