Rochioli
Situated in one of the most diverse geographical land plots of the Russian River Valley, the Rochioli Vineyards and Winery is known for producing terroir-driven wines with a minimal-intervention approach. The fruit harvested from the differing blocks are singularly fermented as a means to showcase the unique vines, some of which are among some of the oldest vineyards in California. With silky Pinot Noir, rich Chardonnay and several other well thought-out wines, this family-run producer is a valuable expression of the Sonoma Valley.
Tasting Notes
- WA92–94
- The dense ruby/purple-colored, mineral-laced 2012 Pinot Noir River Block offers more plum, Asian spice and floral characteristics as well as hints of forest floor and wet stone. With considerable power, it builds incrementally on the palate, finally opening to reveal a full-bodied, intense mouthfeel. Drink it over the next 8-10 years. Range: 92-94
