Bruno Clavelier
Domaine Bruno Clavelier is an estate located in a small commune of Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits district of Burgundy. In the late 1980s after a successful rugby career, Bruno Clavelier took over from his grandfather introducing a purist approach to winemaking—introducing biodynamic farming practices and has since achieved organic certification. Domaine Bruno Clavelier’s vineyards spread along Côte de Nuits from its only Grand Cru wine, Corton Le Rognet, to its Premier Cru wines from Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée, and Nuits Saint Georges. The Domaine’s mission is to capture the terroir of each plot and the climate of each vintage when producing its Burgundian wines.

- Good bright red. Sexy aromas of red fruits, coffee, wild herbs, exotic spices and smoky minerality. Rich and creamy yet at the same time savory and vibrant; spreads out impressively to saturate the mouth with red fruit and spice flavors. Finishes with serious dusty tannins, excellent length and plenty of force. Bruno Clavelier describes 2009 as "a vintage of material, strong but tasty," and this wine is a perfect demonstration of this combination.

- Plenty of muscle backs this intensely fruity red. Black currant, blackberry and violet flavors, with a hint of bittersweet chocolate, adds up to an impressive, complex version, with just a hint of dryness on the finish. Needs time to integrate all the elements. Best from 2016 through 2032. 20 cases imported.
