- Coming from limestone and sandy soils further north in the appellation (whereas Domaine St.-Prefert is located in the very south, next to the lieu-dit Les Grandes Serres), the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Colombis is dense ruby/purple and exhibits an extraordinary nose of kirsch, licorice and black raspberry jam. Intensely flavored, with extraordinary elegance, purity, definition and length, this is a stunning tour de force in old-vine Grenache that should drink well for 20-25+ years.
