The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, plush wine. Despite its initial richness, there is plenty of underlying tannin. Sweet floral notes are woven throughout. The 2009 bursts with energy, precision and sheer class. It is a dazzling effort. Far from an easygoing 2009, the wine shows the more structured side of the vintage. It is likely to require at least a few years in bottle. The 2009 is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, aged in French oak barrels, 81% new. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029.

A powerful wine, dense and concentrated, weaving a mix of cedary oak, loamy earth, dried berry and black licorice, with a dash of mocha powder and crushed rock, ending with rich, chewy tannins. Best from 2013 through 2025.
