Established in 2006 in the Napa Valley’s Rutherford AVA, Alpha Omega produces a range of wines that blend the Old World winemaking with the New World techniques. Alpha Omega is very universal utilizing grapes from renowned Napa Valley vineyards like Beckstoffer's To Kalon and Missouri Hopper in Oakville, Dr. Crane and Las Piedras in St. Helena, Georges III in Rutherford, Stagecoach in Atlas Peak, and Sunshine Valley in Oak Knoll District. No matter if it’s reds or whites, Alpha Omega takes advantage of the complexity and depth the Napa Valley has to offer.
Tasting Notes
- WE90
- This is a strong, dry and tannic Cabernet Sauvignon, with intense blackberry, black currant and new oak flavors. Right now, it’s immature, offering little beyond sheer power. Will it age? Six years is no problem. After that, the overripeness, in the form of raisins, may easily kick in.
- WA90
- The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon delivers a big blast of dark red fruit, smoke, licorice and tar. This isn’t a subtle wine, yet there is something about its frankness that is incredibly pleasing. This delicious Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well for the next decade. I loved it. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
