V90–93

Black-ruby. High-pitched, extremely unevolved aromas of cassis, blackberry, bitter chocolate and violet. Juicy and primary but already impressively dense, with penetrating black fruit and dark chocolate flavors. Currently rather folded in on itself, with more acidity and tannic spine than the '98. Conveys a strong impression of structure today. Finishes very tannic and very rich. The '98 currently displays more personality, but this may well possess more of everything (color, acidity, tannins).
