Château Gazin is one of the oldest within the Right Bank, dating back to 1772. When Château Gazin fell into the control of Nicholas de Bailliencourt, the harvesting was switched from the mass producing with, at the time low quality and trendy mechanical practices back to manual. Reducing yields significantly and increasing the quality of grapes that were harvested. Now we are able to share with you all the delicious outcome of these alterations in the winemaking process, as the success it truly is.
Château Gazin 2000 is a distinguished Pomerol red Bordeaux blend, primarily composed of Merlot, with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate, with a rich history dating back to a 12th-century hospital, is located on the unique blue clay and iron-rich soils of Pomerol. The wine showcases a complex bouquet of earthy notes, including sandy soil, plum, black cherry, and hints of cedar and tobacco. Its impressive structure is marked by refined tannins and a mineral streak, contributing to a balanced mouthfeel. The wine is full-bodied and powerful, promising longevity and an evolving character over the years. Typical blend: ~90% Merlot, with Cab Franc/Cab Sauvignon.
