The 2002 The Fight (100% Syrah from the cool Coombesville site called Richard Perry Vineyard) is an impressive unfined/unfiltered 197-case offering that spent 18 months in 100% new French oak. Boasting an opaque ruby/purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of blackberry liqueur intermixed with licorice, roasted meats, underbrush, and vanilla, it is a big, juicy, backward red that needs 1-2 more years of cellaring.
