Château Palmer
Garnering Third Growth status from the historic Classification of 1855, Château Palmer of the Margaux appellation is known for its forward-thinking practices, imaginative culture and world-class wines. Named after the reputable General Palmer of the British Army, the château is now owned by local negociants including the Mahler-Besse and Sichel families. Many believe Palmer’s reputation has exceeded its third growth ranking since its legendary performance in the 1961 vintage arguably exceeding First Growth Chateau Margaux in quality. It is very hard for people not to love this multidimensional wine that boasts bouquets of dark fruit, sweet tannins, age-ability and a rich personality.

- This stunning wine is one of the vintage’s great successes. Administrator Thomas Duroux has fashioned a modern day version of Palmer’s brilliant 1966. Displaying a rare combination of power and elegance, this dense purple-colored offering exhibits notes of blackberries, truffles, flowers, incense, and camphor. Long, classic, and medium to full-bodied with stunning texture and richness, this superb effort is a candidate for the finest Margaux of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2025+.
