

Located in the Right Bank of Bordeaux, Château Larcis-Ducasse is a Premier Grand Cru Classe B wine producer. Dating back to the 16th century, this Merlot-dominant producer has been owned by the Gratiot Alphandéry family. Situated on the east of Château Pavie and to the north of Château Troplong Mondot, Château Larcis-Ducasse 11 hectares vineyards lies on a range of soil types from limestone to clay. The winery’s production remains very limited only producing around 4000 cases annually, striving to produce quality wines from the states diverse terroirs. In 2010, the Larcis Ducasse vineyard started producing a second wine, Murmure de Larcis Ducasse. Château Larcis-Ducasse caught the attention of highly acclaimed critic Robert Parker, giving “2005 Larcis-Ducasse” a perfect 100 point score.
Château Larcis Ducasse 2005 from Saint-Émilion is a remarkable red Bordeaux blend, primarily composed of 78% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. This historic estate, rejuvenated in the early 2000s, has produced a wine known for its rich profile and long aging potential. The 2005 vintage exhibits a deep garnet color and complex aromas of licorice, black cherry, and blackcurrant, complemented by notes of cedar and leather. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with vibrant acidity and fine tannins, offering flavors of plum, cherry, and spices, leading to a lengthy, mineral finish. It showcases the estate's terroir and promises longevity in the cellar.
