Ochota Barrels

In 2000, this punk band bass guitarist left his rickenbakker behind to attend Adelaide University’s Oenology program and soon after started traveling the world as a flying winemaker. Taras Ochota learned from the best as he traveled around Australia, Europe, and California consulting and learning the tricks of the trade along the way. After a few trips around the globe, Taras settled down with his partner, Amber, in Adelaide Hills to start their label Ochota Barrels. Today they make a fantastic family of wines from restrained Chardonnay to Pinot Noir to their Rhone varietal blends.

Taras was recently nominated as Winemaker of the Year by Gourmet Wine Taveller while Ochota Barrels was named Best New Australian Winery by the Sydney Morning Herald and listed in the Top 100 Wineries in the World by Wine and Spirits Magazine USA. Wow, that’s a lot of love!

Not only does this winery have a cult following in Australia but thanks to our friends over at Martine’s Wines we finally have a few cases of these wines stateside. Try all that Ochata Barrels has to offer with this limited release of their world-class wines!
