As one of the most prestigious producers in the Chablis region of Northern Burgundy, Rene et Vincent Dauvissat is a family-owned estate that has been operating since 1931. Originally founded by Rene Dauvisset, his son, Vincent, began helping his father in 1976, and the wines are produced under both “René et Vincent Dauvissat” and “Domaine Dauvissat-Camus” labels.
Although the estate produces a Villages Chablis and a Petit Chablis that are difficult to get a hold of, they are known for their prized Grand Cru and Premier Cru bottlings from the top vineyards in Chablis including the renown Les Clos and Les Preuses. All fruit is naturally farmed and harvested by hand, and the wines go through spontaneous malolactic fermentation, bâtonnage, and aging in 6-8 year old barrels to create a unifying balance.
The 2010 Dauvissat Les Clos Grand Cru is a distinguished white Burgundy from a renowned family domaine. Sourced from a south-facing parcel on Kimmeridgian limestone, this wine exemplifies the classic Chablis style with its profound complexity. The aromatic profile features vibrant notes of grapefruit, lemon, white flowers, and wet stones, complemented by hints of white truffle and wild herbs. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a creamy texture and brisk acidity, delivering a mineral-driven, energetic finish. The wine showcases a perfect balance of fruit and minerality, reflecting the exceptional terroir of Les Clos. This vintage is noted for its longevity and depth.
