Maison Louis Latour is one of the most highly-regarded négociants in the Burgundy wine region of France. After its founding in 1797, it has gained plenty of recognition and respect for both its white and red wines. With around 72 acres of Grand Cru land, the domain has the largest amount of vineyard holdings in all of Burgundy. The maison not only controls a large portion of Burgundy, but has a substantial amount of holdings in the regions of Ardèche and Var regions located in the south of France that are known for their Viognier and Chardonnay at more accessible price points. Having grown grapes since the 17th Century in Aloxe-Corton, the Latour family had the chance to expand when they gained a 125-acre domaine and built their Corton Grancey winery in 1834. The winery was built with five levels to allow for gravity flow, which was the first of its kind in France. Today the winery is one of the most easily recognized in all of France, as are the wines, and it is distributed to many countries across the globe.
