The 40-acre property that is the Sea Smoke Estate Vineyard provides the producer with its entirety of fruit, which is comprised of 10 different clones of Pinot Noir as well as 10 acres planted of Chardonnay. Because of a change in winemaker in recent years, Sea Smoke has undergone a shift in style of their Pinot Noir wines with less extraction, less oak, and even more recognition.
This Chardonnay showcases a sun-drenched Californian character, marked by its rich extraction and full-bodied profile. The wine is polished and satiny, with a balance of crisp acidity and oak influence, featuring notes of lemon and lime alongside subtle herbal shades. The complex interplay of flavors includes creamy textures and hints of tropical fruit, enhanced by the influence of French oak aging. A touch of minerality and a murmuring tannin structure contribute to a vibrant finish, indicating potential for further development over time. Vinified in stainless steel and matured for 10 months in oak (24% new).
