Based in the Épernay region of Champagne, Maison Perrier-Jouët is a sparkling wine house that was founded in 1811. The origin of the house began when cork supplier Pierre Nicolas Perrier married Rose Adelaide Jouët, the daughter of a Calvados producer. Perrier’s family owned several vineyards throughout the region of Champagne, and after one year of marriage he decided to utilize those family vineyards and begin producing Champagne under the label Perrier- Jouët. While Pierre focused on the sales and marketing, Adele began tending to the vineyards and winemaking practices. Today, the house owns over 160 acres of vineyards which have allowed them to continue to produce their prestige label Belle-Epoque.
